Searching for a good location for your fortress is extremely important. If you neglect this you may find your dwarves dying off from dehydration, starvation or the other dangers that lurk about.
An ideal location includes:
- A location that lacks an Template:L.
- A fresh water source like Template:L or Template:L.
- A Template:L that isn't extremely hot or cold.
- A Template:L to provide Template:L and Template:L ore.
- A Template:L material for making Template:L. Ideally, this would be a sedimentary flux layer (Template:L, Template:L, or Template:L), though Template:L (which is metamorphic) will also suffice.
- A non-evil biome
- An area with an abundance of Template:L.
