Template:L is produced by a Template:L in an Template:L.
Soapmaking is a high-technology tertiary industry. Creating soap requires Template:L and Template:L, both of which are manufactured items. Building the Alchemist's laboratory requires the components of a functioning Template:L to create the 3 clear Template:L Template:Ls, which in turn requires Template:L (on a map which actually contains it), a Template:L (made from Template:L or Template:L) and Template:L (made from burned wood).
As Template:L is one of the necessary ingredients, creating soap will require burning large quantities of wood, so a soap industry is best established in a heavily wooded area or a mountainous region with an underground Template:L or Template:L for growing Template:Ls.
Alchemist's laboratory
Soap is made in an Alchemist's laboratory.
- Create 3 x Template:L Template:Ls - requires a Template:L
Clear glass
- Template:L or Template:L Template:L
- construct a Template:L or Template:L
- collect Template:L
- obtain Template:L (trade or see below)
- sand + pearlash at glass furnace produces clear glass - profession: Template:L
Bags
Large amounts of animal fat are required to make soap. Slaughtered animals are the only input requied for producing Template:Ls from Template:L. Inputs: butcherable animals
- breed livestock or hunt butcherable wild animals- profession: Template:L
- slaughter the animal at a butcher's shop to obtain skin - profession: Template:L

- tan the skin at a tannery - profession: Template:L
- use 2 pieces of leather to produce 1 bag at a leather works - profession: Template:L
Sand
Use the bags from above.
- construct a Template:L or Template:L
- issue the collect sand task from the furnace
Pearlash
Pearlash is required in creating the glass vials used to build an Alchemist's laboratory. Inputs: Ash or lye from above.
- Produce potash from ashes or lye at the ashery - profession: Template:L
- use potash to make pearlash at a kiln or magma kiln - profession: Template:L
Lye
Inputs: Template:Ls plus an Template:L.
- cut down trees to obtain wood - profession: Template:L
- burn wood at a wood furnace to make ash - profession: Template:L
- use ash to make lye at an ashery - profession: Template:L
Tallow
Inputs: butcherable Template:Ls
- breed livestock or hunt butcherable wild animals- profession: Template:L
- slaughter the animal at a butcher's shop to obtain fat - profession: Template:L
- render the fat at a kitchen to produce tallow - profession: Template:L
