A sculpture garden is a room defined from a statue. They act as meeting places for dwarves and animals. Occasionally an idle dwarf will host a party at the statue, and dwarves who attend will have a chance to make friends. Since they are a meeting places, stray animals tend to gather sculpture gardens.
