Those pointy-eared little pricks never showed up. During the siege, we ate through our reserves of food, and drank most of the booze. I have ordered emergency plant gathering to bolster supplies and hopefully we can make it through this summer. ''The elves shall pay.''

I have started the twin projects of "freeing up some cages" and "getting a little battle training in for the militia" by pitting the captives from the siege. I have also ordered the windmills repaired, our forges, although not wanting for it, are without a constant replenished source of magma. In other news, '''Zuntir Akrlulkezt''', a stonecrafter, has been working furiously on a creation. He emerged after many weeks labouring to present us with '''Numstigaz Evud Olthez''', "Windyrasped the Monk of Sorcery", a phyllite figurine of dwarves. The dwarves are labouring. The artwork relates to the founding of Meshring by The Ceiling of Scratches of The Hammer of Jungles in the early spring 187. It is encrusted in blue garnet, decorated with horse bone, and turkey leather and encircled with bands of phyllite, lead and blood thorn. This object is adorned with hanging rings of shell opan and menaces with spikes of phyllite and blue garnet. With a new \Legendary stonecrafter in our midst, I may have to turn to these artisans for the creation of wealth. ''Our fame needs to be re-established.''

Spring, 193

8th Granite, 193. With everyone safe inside, I ordered the outer bridges to be lowered. The goblin crossbows instantly turned our war creatures in to porcupines. Despite the losses, the ruse worked, luring the goblins in to the cage traps that were set up, however most disturbingly was the fact that a third squad of TROLLS has stormed on to the battlefield. I need to prepare the militia for a frontal assault...

15th Felsite, 193. The militia charged the goblins and slew most of them. A few injuries, some serious, but the majority of the goblin menace has been slaughtered. While this is good news, troubling reports have been sent from below: The Forgotten Beast Sarek has come! A towering hair pterosaur. It has a pair of knobby antennae and it has a gaunt appearance. Beware its noxious secretions!

19th Felsite, 193. The siege is broken, the last of the elk birds falling to good marksdwarfship. We will retreat to evaluate injuries and prepare for the coming elven caravan. Filthy tree huggers. Hopefully the battlefield with hewn body parts, blood everywhere and many, many caged goblins will serve as a reminder of the might of the dwarven empire!

Summer, 193

1st Hematite, 193. Those pointy-eared little pricks never showed up. During the siege, we ate through our reserves of food, and drank most of the booze. I have ordered emergency plant gathering to bolster supplies and hopefully we can make it through this summer. The elves shall pay.

22nd Hematite, 193. I have started the twin projects of "freeing up some cages" and "getting a little battle training in for the militia" by pitting the captives from the siege. I have also ordered the windmills repaired, our forges, although not wanting for it, are without a constant replenished source of magma. In other news, Zuntir Akrlulkezt, a stonecrafter, has been working furiously on a creation. He emerged after many weeks labouring to present us with Numstigaz Evud Olthez, "Windyrasped the Monk of Sorcery", a phyllite figurine of dwarves. Our fame needs to be re-established.
