Hey, there's this little button next to Save page, it says "Show preview". Use it once in a while, okay? --GreyMario 01:45, 11 April 2008 (EDT)
Welcome to this wiki! Dwarf Fortress rapidly becomes more complicated, and we're always glad to have new writers.
Since we prefer that you try to follow our wiki's standards, we've made a list of basic guidelines. Note that this is an impersonal template, so some may not apply to you.
- To let us know who you are, please sign your posts on discussion pages by typing
--~~~~
after your posts. This can also be inserted with the button if JavaScript is enabled. - Avoid making many small edits to a page. Instead, try to make one large edit. This makes the history of the page a lot easier to read.
- When making comments on a talk page, use one more colon before each line in your comment than was used in the comment you reply to. Put an empty line between comments by different users but do not use blank lines inside of a comment. If your comment has no indents, use
<br>
after each line. - Never, ever, put a question mark in the title of a page. This is not an undoable mistake. The rule list elaborates.
- Most importantly, read and follow the rules. Really. Read them.

adding emphasis to a major point that Richards completely overlooked five hours after this notice was added. Sigh. Maybe he'll decide to read his talk page now that he's being bugged again by the wiki software. --GreyMario 16:59, 13 April 2008 (EDT)
- I appreciate the concern GreyMario, but please keep in mind that I've contributed a couple large articles today and bound to make mistakes with my wording from time to time. I will try to make sure my additions are thoroughly checked for spelling mistakes the next time I submit a change. Thanks.--Richards 17:22, 13 April 2008 (EDT)
- Btw, greymario. He tagged the cleanup edits as minor. This means you can click on "hide minor edits" on the recent changes list to hide them. VengefulDonut 18:46, 13 April 2008 (EDT)
- Okay, yeah, I overlooked that detail. Whoops. --GreyMario 00:44, 14 April 2008 (EDT)
Hydra
(Yes, but it's a nice peice of trivia.)
Exactly - it's trivia, nothing to do with DF. If we let in every bit of cool trivia, this site would be a disaster - so where do we draw the line, except at "none"? I know trivia, I know mythology - maybe vast amounts of "nice trivia" everywhere would be an improvement - or maybe a link to the actual wiki article is better. And keeps to the site guidelines.--Albedo 02:10, 18 August 2009 (UTC)
A fine compromise - imo there is a significant (and important) diff between a dedicated passage on Greek mythology, and a side comment and link-reference to that origin. Readya later.--Albedo 08:24, 18 August 2009 (UTC)
