I am not sure why is this template generates a link to itself? The span ID is what creates the link anchor, all we need is a the link for the visible part. The link is unnecessary, unhelpful (links to itself) and confusing (particuarly in the long token lists) distracting from actual links to relevant topics.
For reference the wikipedia template doesn't do this. --Jan (talk) 21:38, 24 January 2022 (UTC)
