Little is known about the famed pearl. Its existence is shrouded in myths. It is said to arrive from mussels and oysters[Verify] (presumably when eaten uncooked, possibly only when fished from the ocean, but not when acquired in trade).
It is currently unknown to what stockpile pearls would go and where they show up in the z-stocks menu.
Some dwarves have a preference for pearls, but it is undetermined how this preference could be satisfied.
