Thoughts and Preferences
Eagle of Fire likes good computer games, strategy games in general and chess for it's challenge. He can be seen in several sites all over the internet, especially on Abandonia, Abandonia Reloaded and LSN sites. He likes to contribute whenever he can, but have the tendency of being perceived as aggressive and/or as someone who can't get his point across diplomatically due mainly to a difference of native language. Eagle of Fire prefers to speak French whenever he can. He dislike disorder and particularly hate spammers (bots in particular) and will hunt them down if necessary. He dislikes Java and will use it only when absolutely necessary. He loathes Flash and would prefer to kill instead of using it on his own computer.
Eagle of Fire is happy working outdoor and complain only mildly about inclement weather. He loathe alcohol and would never consider it to get thru the working day.
Eagle of Fire's Tileset

Further comments: this tileset was added to the wiki list without my knowledge, and thus came into existance simply as "Eagle of Fire's Tileset". As I didn't receive any imput or even much replies, I took for granted that it wasn't interesting enough and I didn't bothered to try to improve on it. It is then pretty much simply for my personal use, and I still use it today with the new version. I like fullscreen, and I hate the window font.
Current Fortress
Yeah, sure...
Hehehe... First mood I get for this fortress. I think the whole leader thing is getting to his head! :D
Humanity, shumanity...
In an attempt to speed up human wagons, I wanted to dig out a dried up pond and fill the sides with upward ramp. Going thru the dried up pond would have been way faster than zigzaging between the (yet) uncut trees and boulders... However, I forgot about the roof of the newly made "cavern", and the cavavan got in the dried up pond while my miner was still working on it. Part of the ceiling decided to collapse on the head of the caravan at that moment, and the wagons disapeared (died?). This left me with a lot of "free" stuff as the merchants packed up and ran away in fear, one of those freebies being my first anvil. At almost the same moment, I've struck a vein of hematite... I think it would be wise of me to start up my metal industry ASAP and prepare for a war...
Giant Spider Attack!
While exploring a great chasm discovered near the sleeping quarters, a giant spider was discovered and proceeded into ripping appart every single dwarves getting near to collect the webs. Quickly setting up a defense squad sparsely equiped with diverse weapons, the strike team rushed to the rescue. Result of the attack: three deaths and at least as many wounded.
Note to self: when starting up metal operation, start by creating armor first for only a select few. Fighting around chasms is way too dangerous because getting thrown around in fights and thus falling in the chasm itself is way too easy. That, and giant spiders are hardcore and can spit webs which paralyse dwarves... Nasty.
It's hell down here...
Nothing to report since a while, except for the dumb immobile goblin sieges... No human attack in sight, but no caravans in years either because of aforementioned goblin sieges... So I decided to do some exploring deep underground in search of more iron. The last vein gave us some good weapons and armor but I could make steel now that I'm not in a hurry. So deep underground exploring we go, until...
No need to say that I was both thrilled and exited by this discovery, especially since the pit spawn the complete Z axis and that I unluckily mined around it all this time. Only exploratory shafts managed to find it... But maybe the miner was a little too much carried in his work, for he punched thru the pipe and magma began spilling out from the bottom.
Fortunatly, albeit it was from the lower level and that pressure must be pretty strong, magma spill very slowly. I ordered a door built to stop the magma flow, but the stockpile was pretty far from there and it would never had got there in time to stop the spill. In a last attempt to create a ditch, I ordered my mason to create an emergency wall made of a nearby obsidian rock. Now that the crisis been aborted, it's time to see how we could use the magma to fuel up our forge and smelter. No more need to decimate the entire tree population. :)
