Sandstone is a sedimentary Template:L of stone. It can sometimes contain an Template:L, and can also be found along the the Template:L shore.

It also is the name for the eighth month of the Dwarven Template:L, covering mid-Fall.

-Sandstone is defined as a clastic sedimentary stone composed of primarily quartz and/or {{L|Orthoclase|potassium feldspar}} grains ranging in size from 1/16 of a millimeter to 2 millimeters, most commonly cemented together with either quartz (SiO<sub>4</sub>), {{L|calcite}} (CaO<sub>3</sub>), or {{L|hematite}} (Fe<sub>2</sub>O<sub>3</sub>). Stones composed of grains larger than 2 milimeters are called either {{L|conglomerate}}s (if the grains are round) or breccias (if the grains have sharp angles; however, breccia is not present in Dwarf Fortress), if the grains are smaller than 1/16th of a milimeter, it is called a {{L|Siltstone}}. It is not uncommon for sandstones to contain fossils, in which case, it is called Fossiliferous Sandstone.
