40d Talk:Lye
Revision as of 15:54, 8 March 2010 by Briess (talk | contribs) (moved Talk:Broken/40d\x3aLye to 40d Talk:Lye)
What from?
This page doesn't say what lye is made from! --AlexChurchill 07:28, 12 June 2008 (EDT)
- "It is made with a Lye maker dwarf at an ashery and requires 1 ash." Second sentence on the page. Does that not answer? --Vuntic 08:35, 12 June 2008 (EDT)
Storage
Oddly, if you trade for lye, you get barrels containing a stack of 10 lye, but if you make your own from ashes, then you'll be able to fit 203050100 individual units of lye in each barrel. --Quietust 04:43, 25 July 2009 (UTC)
Buckets
What happens to the buckets after you make lye? Are they still stored as part of the lye? And after you use the lye? Shardok 11:34, 20 August 2009 (UTC)
- The buckets get emptied into barrels in an appropriate stockpile, whether empty or already containing lye. In order to better consolidate lye into fewer barrels, it's best to make a single lye stockpile (and disallow it from all other food stockpiles) and only permit it to hold a small number of barrels - as each one fills up, you can expand it to allow more. --Quietust 20:21, 6 November 2009 (UTC)
