DF2014 Talk:Advanced marksdwarf training guide
Inconsistent use of dwarves or dwarfs? Both are used on this guide.– unsigned comment by Kroy

"The first rule of marksdwarf training is you do *not* assign them a normal barracks. If they have that, they will prefer to train as hammerdwarves with their crossbows vs. actually shooting bolts. Furthermore, as the game gives precedence to melee training, they will almost never use an archery range even if one is assigned if they have a choice."
The quickstart guide seems to indicate that marksdwarves will never train archery if they're not assigned to a barracks, so either there's some contradictory information on the wiki or there's a nonstandard barracks that should be assigned to them that isn't detailed here. Can someone please clear this up? --192.156.110.12 06:43, 8 March 2021 (UTC)
Namespace
Would anyone be opposed to moving this page to the tutorial namespace (e.g. Tutorial:Advanced marksdwarf training)? —Lethosor (talk) 23:28, 13 May 2015 (UTC)
Given that you appear to have forgotten about this one entirely; no, I certainly wouldn't be, and I don't think there's anyone around who much cares ATM, either! Silverwing235 (talk) 08:47, 20 January 2022 (UTC)
- Comment: A cursory look suggest that the concept of Tutorial namespace hasn't caught up, instead Category:Guides is being used. Not sure what the intended purpose and advantages of a Tutorial namespace are, but seems like any change would require a LOT of work and would complicate thing like linking. I am not sure that 2021@Lethosor wouldn't be opposed to it himself.
- Side note: I think that guides\tutorials on the wiki could use a lot of polish, mainly from literary editors rather than technical editors. --Jan (talk) 15:38, 26 January 2022 (UTC)
