I think that butchering gives negative thoughts to some dwarves. It made my full time butcher depressed after a year or two.

I am not certain of this, but I think it warrants some research. Her depression could have been caused by other factors, although she is the only one in my fort who is suffering this much; her depression keeps reoccurring.
