About[edit]

I first discovered Dwarf Fortress by reading the tale of the legendary Boatmurdered and simply had to try this game for myself; now I am completely addicted to it. I might as well write some of the history of my fortresses so far

My First Fortress (Paddledapear) (201-203)[edit]

I attempted to follow the well written guides on this wiki, but made numerous mistakes. The first was putting the stockpiles outside, and the second was not brewing any beer. The dwarves either quickly starved to death, or tantrumed, beat up another dwarf, then starved to death. It was quite fun to be sure; so I started another fortress to rectify my mistakes.

My Second (and current) Fortress (Strangerpaints) (204-209[ongoing])[edit]

Learning from some of my mistakes, the current fortress is a Barony with three ugly towers and a large underground area; unfortunately, in late 208 I almost flooded the entire map because of a pumping incident. One dwarf managed to disconnect the power source to save the fortress, dwarfs, humans, and the goblins who were currently ambushing the place. As of now, the fortress is having some issues after a devastating goblin raid followed a deadly cave-in. One tantruming dwarf broke free from a lead chain before finally being beaten to death.
