Sandstone is a sedimentary Template:L of stone. It can sometimes contain an Template:L, and can also be found along the the Template:L shore.
It also is the name for the eighth month of the Dwarven Template:L, covering mid-Fall.
Sandstone is largely defined as a sedimentary stone composed of primarily quartz and/or potassium feldspar grains ranging in size from 1/16 of a millimeter to 2 millimeters, most commonly cemented together with either quartz (SiO4), calcite (CaO3), or hematite (Fe2O3). Stones composed of grains larger than 2 milimeters are called either conglomerates (if the grains are round) or breccias (if the grains have sharp angles; however, breccias is not present in Dwarf Fortress), if the grains are smaller than 1/16th of a milimeter, it is called a Siltstone.
