I believe that it needs to be said that ramps ''do'' need "support" - and that wall defines the direction of movement. Ramps without a supporting wall ''sometimes'' work, but are not guaranteed to work (afaik).  I also believe that the "wall = support = direction of travel" is a solid model for understanding and envisioning ramps - at least at a basic level.  <br />
