If a dwarf would cancel "Rest" for whatever reason, will the dwarf still recover?

My situation; My injured Woodworker (Moderate wound to a leg; presumably can't walk.) was resting in bed. But, to my good (or bad) fortune, it had acquired a fey mood. It managed to hobble over to the workshop on it's wounded leg, but now that the artifact is complete it can't seem to leave, nor does it try to "rest" again. Do I need to convince another dwarf to pull it back over to the bed?
