The grouping of the colors tokens according to display colors is very nice, but what is the !science! behind it? Dye testing? Looking at the raws for generated creatures? The divine metals have examples of display colors that belie the display color (or vice versa); translucent and multicolored metal are both CLEAR but have light blue/green as their respective display color, not dark gray. If either  generated creatures or dye colors were used, can we be sure the algorithm is the same for both, and none of them use a hard-coded solution like the divine metals do?

The colors used are accidentally the v50 ones, instead of the ones used up to and in DF2014. Presumably an accident caused by the v50 migration. --Voliol (talk) 19:44, 28 December 2022 (UTC)

This is more of a nitpick... but since grey and "dark yellow" break the pattern anyways, doesn't it make sense to label "light cyan/magenta" as it really is (cyan/magenta) and cyan/magenta as "dark cyan/magenta." I mean, hex-wise the colours are backwards. 173.168.16.66 22:21, 21 February 2015 (UTC)

Color tokens to display colors[edit]

The grouping of the colors tokens according to display colors is very nice, but what is the !science! behind it? Dye testing? Looking at the raws for generated creatures? The divine metals have examples of display colors that belie the display color (or vice versa); translucent and multicolored metal are both CLEAR but have light blue/green as their respective display color, not dark gray. If either generated creatures or dye colors were used, can we be sure the algorithm is the same for both, and none of them use a hard-coded solution like the divine metals do? -- Voliol (talk) 11:20, 21 March 2022 (UTC)

DF v50 colors[edit]
