So, I made a reservoir that flows over a series of downward stairs that are directly above magma. However, once water enters in contact, no obsidian is created, the magma and water simply evaporate together (magma in connected upper levels began dropping). Is this due the new version? :Obsidian casting will not work in a tile that is listed as a "magma flow". You can, however, force it to work by ordering your dwarves to build an "up stair" in the tile. You'll need to wait until the tick right after the water drops in and the magma disappears to issue the order, but your dwarves should have no trouble actually building it. Once built, magma and water will combine in the tile to form obsidian. (Mining it out will not recreate the magma flow, so you should only have to do the tedious bit once.)--[[User:Loci|Loci]] ([[User talk:Loci|talk]]) 21:36, 9 September 2014 (UTC)

Obsidian casting will not work in a tile that is listed as a "magma flow".
