Depression is a symptom developed by dwarves who have progressed beyond the final stage of stress. A dwarf in this state does not complete any work but they can be retrieved from this state back to the lower levels of stress through happy thoughts. A dwarf with depression for a long enough time will throw a tantrum and may eventually go insane.
