Editing Nobles screen

The '''nobles screen''' is where you can appoint administrative [[noble]]s, change the settings for your [[bookkeeper]], and check for [[requirement]]s, [[demand]]s and [[mandate]]s of nobles. It is accessed by pressing {{Menu icon|n}} from the main screen.

When you first found a fortress, you will have one noble:  The [[Expedition leader]]. But it is advisable to hire: The [[Chief medical dwarf]], [[Manager]], [[Bookkeeper]], [[Militia commander]] and [[Broker]]. Others will become available later or come as [[migrant]]s. Checking the noble screen after each migration wave ensures that no change (like demands or new positions) goes unnoticed. For more information, see [[Noble]].

While on the nobles screen, some nobles can be replaced by clicking on the {{key|+}} icon, others are fixed, and yet others (like the [[Mayor]]) are elected automatically.

You can give and name nobles their own crest by clicking on the crown symbol next to your noble. 

Some of your nobles have needs, for example, the [[bookkeeper]] needs a meager study room. You can view their needs by hovering over the symbols next to the noble and looking at the top left of the Nobles screen.
== Settings ==
Some nobles have settings that can be edited by highlighting them and pressing {{key|s}}:
* [[Bookkeeper]] - Allows you to set an accuracy target for his inventory of the fortress' goods (inaccurate counts will be rounded and have a ? next to them).  Not only does this determine the accuracy, but also the amount of time this dwarf must spend on the accounts.  Below the choices, you will get a status update as to which level of accuracy he has reached, and what percentage of the way he or she is to the next level of accuracy.
