Hi.  I've seen some vague and undefined statements on these boards, but that is right up there with the best of them.  What is "moderately equipped"? How "moderately" trained? How many in a squad? Also, there is SO much randomness involved in combat, unless you've seen many combats your one/few encounters are not very significant or reliable. The only real measure is 1:1, or 1:x, and either a naked wrestler or a fully armoured and "well trained" dwarf (or more than one, but a concrete number - not "a squad", which can be from 2-10 iirc). Just letting you know that I'm removing the above, since it's really meaningless - if you want to add something concrete from your experience (perhaps on the talk page, until it gets confirmed?), it would be welcomed. I wondered what the hell an Elk Bird was, searched for it here, found nothing, so I created a stubby page. IIRC, it was a 3 dorf squad with iron weapons and incomplete leather/iron armour with skills around competent. I think the first dorf who got to the bird killed it in one shot or so. Just wanted to reply to your comment here. I know your comment is old and your problem is probably already resolved or changed in recent updates, but if you are still having this issue, I can resolve it; you have to remove the "train" (t) assignment from their whatever building you used to assign a barracks. --Gzalzi 16:19, 2 January 2011 (UTC)

Yeah, stuff's working fine with the more recent versions. Thanks anyway. 83.23.0.83 23:23, 2 January 2011 (UTC)
