:The name for "$" is "dollars". The name for "£" is "pounds", and for "¥" is "yen". There is only one name/pronunciation I've ever heard for "☼" - and that's "dwarfbucks".  (Not my personal fav either, but it is what it is.) Unless you're going to say "The symbol of the currency previously known as dwarfbucks"... there's gotta be a word for it.  And there is, like it or not.--[[User:Albedo|Albedo]] 12:59, 30 May 2009 (UTC)

Welcome to this wiki! Dwarf Fortress rapidly becomes more complicated, and we're always glad to have new writers.
Since we request that you try to follow our wiki's standards, we've made a list of basic guidelines to follow. Note that this is a template, so some may not apply to you.

  • To let us know who you are, please sign your posts on discussion pages by typing "--~~~~" after your posts. This can also be inserted with the Button sig756222.png button if JavaScript is enabled.
  • Avoid making a dozen small edits to a page, instead making one large edit. This makes the history of the page a lot easier to read and avoids cluttering the Recent changes page.
  • When making comments on a talk page, if you are replying to a comment, use one more indent than the comment you are replying to. Since indents are created with :'s at the beginning of line, you'd use ::::: at the beginning if you were replying to a 4-indent comment. Put an empty line between comments by others and you but not in the middle of your own comment.
  • Most importantly, read and follow the rules.

Quarry bush

You were missing fertilisation. AFAIK, up to 'Quarry bush [8]' stacks are possible

ah, right

Suggestion RE:Currency

See you're removing the needless and unwieldy occurrences of 'monies' in favor of it's true symbolic denomination of ☼. Unfortunately, you've also un-wikilinked those places from the Currency article. Perhaps only changing the reference from monies to ☼ within the wikilink would be a better solution? Personally, I think all values should be tagged with ☼, and all ☼'s should be wikilinked to Currency. The average New User of DF would be unlikely to understand that ☼ is the designation of currency.

Of particular reason to wikilink ☼ in all it's occurrences is the difficulty your average user would have in entering ☼ in any case where they cannot readily copy it.

But there's my two ☼ in regards to a good initiative. --Edward 09:03, 28 April 2008 (EDT)

The name for "$" is "dollars".
