This article is about an older version of DF.

In dwarf fortress, eggs are laid by creatures with the Template:L token. This includes ordinary fowl, and also some more exotic creatures such as Template:Ls, Template:Ls, Template:Ls, and many others. Eggs can be used by dwarves as Template:L, or they can be hatched. Hatching eggs requires that a male of the species be present and that the dwarves are prevented from eating the egg before it hatches.

Egg laying animals will claim an empty Template:L if one is available.
