This article is about an older version of DF.

Aquatic creatures (those with the AQUATIC creature token) are restricted to life underwater. An aquatic creature that is removed from water, such as a caught fish or a beached whale, will "drown" in air. Note that aquatic creatures in cages (or aquariums for flavor) do not currently drown.
