After noticing an odd effect when constructing a courtyard, I conducted an experiment to test what happened to plants involved in a cave-in.  Further experimentation (especially in different biomes) is probably warranted, but I'll update the page to include the clearer findings.  In particular, I noticed that floor fungus and cave moss under the cave-in did survive where it had grass drop on top of it. --bjh21 (talk) 14:22, 5 January 2014 (UTC)

I've done some more tests.  See botany for details.  It seems that all kinds of grass turn into plain green Grass when dropped.  Someone might like to test dropping the special evil and good grasses, but I expect they'll do just the same. --bjh21 (talk) 23:37, 9 January 2014 (UTC)
