item priority

Yeah, I don't know what else to call it... like there is a list of furniture I need, bed, door, chair etc. I think I have made the workshop and I think I have harvested enough trees but still the dwarves are not making the things I need to place doors, beds, chairs...GarrieIrons 03:28, 2 January 2008 (EST)

Additionally, you'll need a dwarf with the right labors activated (masonry for making things at a mason's shop, carpentry for a carpenter's shop, etc.) If they started out with skill at anything, they'll have the corresponding labor already activated.--Maximus 03:41, 2 January 2008 (EST)

Wooden weapons

Neither this article nor the weapons article mention anything about the generic "wooden weapons" that can be made at a Carpenter's workshop. I guess a carpenter dwarf makes them... but what are they? Can I train my millitary with them? Can they fight with them if they have to?

Not sure if it belongs here or at Weapon or somewhere else.

Ah, this is the problem. You're not making weapons, you're making WEAPON RACKS! The "rack" part is missing from the build list. If you want to build wooden weapons you need a Bowyer and a Craftsdwarf's Workshop, that way you can get Crossbows and Bolts. The only other remotely wooden weapon would be the obsidian knife, which has a wooden handle. All other weapons are made from bone or metal (as far as I know). --AlexFili 04:28, 10 June 2008 (EDT)

D'oh! tab is the answer... you are right, I was looking at the menu with it using only 1/3 of the screen when I made it take 2/3 of the screen it says Construct wooden Weapon Rack. So to get sparing weapons I have to buy them :( GarrieIrons 08:12, 12 June 2008 (EDT)
