Verify Cleaning[edit]

I see no indication that any of this is true in 40c. No blood, vomit, water, bolts, or ammunition (even not-forbidden) has been cleaned up in my fortress, and every dwarf has had Cleaning toggled on by default from the beginning. Is this old data? --Sev 14:05, 2 September 2008 (EDT)

At least the cleaning of blood and used bolts I can verify for 40d. So probably its still true for vomit and water, too. --Doub 04:30, 11 October 2008 (EDT)
I just watched one of my dwarves clean up used bolts (in 40d) Edenicholas 15:02, 11 October 2008 (EDT)
I've added verify tags to water and vomit. I've also done ammunition since no one's mentioned it specifically. Anyone who's seen their dwarves clean these, please just remove the verify tag and leave a note here. Kirig Stonebeard 09:06, 26 February 2009 (EST)
I can verify ammunition from siege engines being cleaned, so I updated the page. I also put the part about rain in the wiki, linked for more info. One thing I'd like to know is how to prevent stockpiles of "water". In my stocks it shows over 40. I think it comes from a nurse getting water and then leaving the water? I haven't confirmed that, though. Anybody?--Kwieland 17:03, 26 February 2009 (EST)
Ditto, used ammo cleaning seen in 0.28.181.40d. Hilariously, this involves some otherwise idle dwarf (it seems to be a low priority job) going and standing in front of the archery target while the training marksdwarf is still firing. This is not, surprisingly, a source of fun. I hope the next version allows me to specify that such dwarves must wear sweet pods on their heads when doing so...--81.86.106.14 03:38, 3 February 2010 (UTC)

Seasonal Cleaning[edit]

"as above ground areas will clean automatically at the turn of every season. " Can anyone verify this? I thought outside got clean only when it rained?--Kwieland 09:14, 26 February 2009 (EST)

It cleans at the start of the season. I've never seen rain clean up anything. --LegacyCWAL 13:45, 26 February 2009 (EST)
Actually, i've seen rain clean away blood and vomit. And yes, i am sure. I watched a tile with vomit/blood respectively on it and as soon as rain hit it, it went away. --Myroc 14:46, 26 February 2009 (EST)
Ah, that definitely helps. Incidentally, this is an example of why it's impossible to prove a negative - just because I haven't seen it doesn't mean it isn't there =P --LegacyCWAL 15:23, 26 February 2009 (EST)
I'll have to watch that, then. It would make sense to have all the puke trails erased.--Kwieland 16:56, 26 February 2009 (EST)
