Ruins[edit]

Ruins are no longer populated by undead. I'll update the article with what they're like now. --Squeegy 17:35, 2 November 2008 (EST)

Use in adventure mode?[edit]

Is there any reason to visit a ruin in adventure mode? I've never come across one before. Are there items scattered about, like an abandoned fortress or cave entrance? unsigned comment by Monkeyfetus

Don't forget to sign your posts.... Anyway, I'm not sure ruins are even still generated--I haven't seen one, either, which is unfortunate as they seem to

be quite interesting features. Shame the undead have apparently been removed from them, though; I've always liked that sort of idea. ~ Midna 11:24, 2 January 2010 (UTC)

I've seen ruins in 40d adventure mode. There were two that I could find, on the travel map, both were described as "Mountain Home," obviously leading me to expect an abandoned dwarf fort which was abandoned in worldgen (I have not made a fortress in this world before). However, upon arrival, there were only scattered tower-cap barrels full of such basic items as plump helmets and booze, and the rotting bodies of oxes next to a wagon full of more supply barrels, and additionally pickaxes, an anvil and battle axes. Of course, since the draf animals weren't even done decomposing yet, it might have been a computer-controlled Dwarf civ which decided to send out a party. I never knew that was possible.--216.220.115.175 02:40, 18 January 2010 (UTC)
