Can wrestling moves be blocked with a shield?[edit]
I've been trying to train a dwarf in wrestling and have assigned him a shield. By sparring and fighting other wrestlers, would his skill in shield user be increased? Because at this point my dwarf is at competent armor user but only at dabbling shield user even though I've started training both at the same time.
- I try to equip my military with a shield and armor from the start, even if it's only shell or leather, and always start them as Wrestlers to take advantage of dodging bonuses. The Shield-using skill doesn't improve as quickly as the Armor-using skill does, but it does gain; however, they become Legendary Wrestlers from just sparring long before either of the other two skills approaches higher levels.
