Template talk:CreatureWorking table row

From Dwarf Fortress Wiki
Jump to navigation Jump to search

This corresponds with Template:CreatureWorking table header.
A handy tool for filling in these tables is the RawToTable template, which can be found here.
This is a proposed replacement for the current creature tables found on the Creatures page, please leave suggestions on these template talk pages. --dUMBELLS 17:20, 10 April 2011 (UTC)

In actuality, new tables are currently being created at the List of creatures page, which will be included in the wiki at a later date. --dUMBELLS 21:45, 29 April 2011 (UTC)

Hi![edit]

Hi!, yes I was trying to add the skin colors for every creature, in the creature page, after some testing it turned out that the rbg template wasn't able to render more than 30 color calls or so.... and it put a huge load on the server, those changes were reverted because of that...

Maybe doing it on each individual creature page, but I'd also like to add the hair color, and other color variations you can get....

It would be great if we could draw from the raws every creature and dump it into it's own wiki page, using the colors to render actual color palettes of their variations...

By the way what's the "x" cloumn in this template supposed to do??

--Kaos 22:35, 28 April 2011 (UTC)

The "x" column shows two bars, a green bar and a yellow bar. They are there as a visual representation of adult body size and pet value. They are really just there to give people an idea of the differences of those values between each creature. As for the skin colors, I'd agree that the best place would be on each creature's individual page, maybe if you could find a more efficient way of getting the information it could be incorporated into the creature lookup template. --dUMBELLS 23:35, 28 April 2011 (UTC)
is there any documentation on templates?, I'm unfamiliar with them.... --Kaos 19:02, 29 April 2011 (UTC)
Pet value can be fetched easily enough, but body size would be problematic due to it existing not only in multiple stages but also for multiple castes - see antman for the worst case scenario. --Quietust 20:45, 29 April 2011 (UTC)
