Template talk:Qd
Sigh. Well, it works, but the pre-expand include size is way too large. I will need to think of a different approach. VengefulDonut 21:34, 24 January 2008 (EST)
IE7[edit]
The three digit colors don't seem to work right in IE7. 6 digit colors seem to work fine in all browsers. However, the qd/ch seems to work fine as is, for some reason. MagiMaster 18:19, 9 May 2008 (EDT)
Why?[edit]
Um... Jerimee, not sure creating this is necessary. This wiki is pretty low-key and we have {{Delete}}; not sure we need additional types of deletion. In any case if you want to introduce process changes you should probably chat with the admins. Also, as you've no doubt figured out, it looks like this template was used for a completely different purpose a decade ago, so not sure there's any reason to reuse the name just to match the other wiki. --OddballJoe (talk) 05:34, 26 January 2023 (UTC)
- I think I agree. I'd rather avoid confusion from multiple templates, and from reusing the name of an old one. Appreciate the idea, though. —Lethosor (talk) 06:28, 26 January 2023 (UTC)
- But I can find no record of the old template. Maybe I can't see deletion logs? Despite the fact the template was referencdd long ago, the wiki db let me create the template as new. So I created it - wrongly assuming what it was supposed to be - primarily because the template was in the "most wanted" list.
- I have little clue where/what the old template was. Can someone else better situated sort this out? Or should I just blank the template? Thanks and sorry for the hassle. :) Jerimee (talk) 22:37, 26 January 2023 (UTC)
- Yeah I lack permissions to see the full history. I see no history for the template itself, but this talk page has existed since at least 2008, so must be a lack of permissions. So I need someone else to fix/delete/restore it. And then also to remove/blank the associated category - https://dwarffortresswiki.org/index.php/Category:Quick_deletion_requests - so that it isn't a source of clutter or confusion.
- Definitely not my intent to introduce a process change. Sorry again :) Jerimee (talk) 23:02, 26 January 2023 (UTC)
- Looking at this again - yes, the template is used on several old talk pages, but from context, I'm pretty sure it stands for "quick DIAGRAM", not "quick delete". The parameters being passed to the template sure look like diagrams, at least from checking the first three pages in this category (40d talk:Bridge, 40d talk:Door, 40d talk:Magma). I agree this template should be deleted because it's erroneously adding those pages to Category:Quick deletion requests. —Lethosor (talk) 03:54, 4 June 2024 (UTC)
- Update: the page was last deleted in 2008. It was indeed a diagram template. 2008 is probably too old to show up in the deletion logs properly, but the last edit summary was: "And now I know why this template was blanked. It breaks things. Horribly." —Lethosor (talk) 03:56, 4 June 2024 (UTC)
