v0.31 Talk:Crutch-walker

From Dwarf Fortress Wiki

I havn't even come close to having a dwarf use this, but wouldn't it be cool, if it gave lots of experience, and a dwarf got more powerful after his injury than before? GiantTiger11 11:11, 23 April 2010 (UTC)

I don't think so.--Doub 14:37, 1 May 2010 (UTC)
Dwarves don't get attributes like in 40d. So this will most likly not increase any skill.--Niggy 21:40, 6 June 2010 (UTC)

Crutches allow a dwarf to walk at reduced speed, but the crutch walker skill allows them to walk faster at higher levels. If a dwarf sustained a permanent (nervous tissue) injury to the leg(s), would the crutch-walker skill eventually boost the dwarf's speed above normal, making the crutch into a dwarven bionic limb? 76.69.113.171 02:07, 23 April 2011 (UTC)

I did some testing in Adventurer mode a while ago, and I seem to recall an uninjured Legendary Crutch-walker moving at the same speed with or without a crutch (since equipping a crutch will slow you down whether you need to use it or not). --Quietust 03:09, 23 April 2011 (UTC)
