v0.31 Talk:River

Updated for v0.31[edit]

I've taken the time to go through the old data on rivers and update it for 2010. As far as I can tell nothing has really changed on this, I generated a large map and luckily enough got all five types of rivers on the first shot. I checked several of them at embark to satisfy myself that the rivers appear the same as they did in 40d.

I also decided to go ahead and merge the information for brooks into the main rivers page because there simply isn't enough different information there to justify a separate page IMHO. Whenever an admin drops by I hope that you'll take a look over what I've put up here and hopefully redirect brook/brooks over to this page. It does occur to me that there will need to be an adjustment somewhere to allow backward compatibility to the old brooks page. I had considered either merging it in 40d as well, or simply adding a direct link somewhere here to easily find the old information.

I plan on looking over the old flow, water, water wheel, water pressure pages in time and pulling these forward after I have had some time to do some testing in 2010 and verify that none of the mechanics have been changed on us. I don't expect anything has been changed here, but it's good to check. Doctorzuber 05:04, 8 April 2010 (UTC)

Underground Rivers[edit]

I've left only a brief stub for underground rivers since I have not seen any information about them yet in v0.31 and I would not be in the least bit surprised if these have been changed in the process of creating all of these cool new underground features. --Doctorzuber

I have yet to see even one underground river in 31, let alone even hear about it. I highly doubt that they exist anymore. --Tarran 23:20, 21 April 2010 (UTC)
I'm not willing to rule out the possibility of underground rivers yet. In 40d we had the finder to locate them, that's been taken away in the current versions. Underground rivers were never terribly common, so they're going to be hard to find if they're still there. --Doctorzuber 02:17, 22 April 2010 (UTC)
