v0.31 Talk:Weight
Food, instruments, siege ammo, toys, trap components, and how body part and whole body weight is calculated still needs to be determined. Any volunteers? --PencilinHand 18:46, 2 May 2010 (UTC)
For stone boulders, C appears to be 0.07 (based on trials with minerals varying from bituminous coal to platinum). Doing the math, that means a boulder is 70,000 cubic centimeters, or a rough sphere about 51cm in diameter. --Quietust 19:16, 13 May 2010 (UTC)
Does weight affect anything other than speed and how much is tradable? One of my dwarves went into a strange mood, and ended up making me a 1Γ aluminum war hammer. Does the fact that air is heavier than my war hammer mean that it is weak, or just unusually stylish? If weight does anything else, someone please add. Thank you. --Peglegpenguin 23:12, 8 July 2010 (UTC)
Some code analysis indicates that the weight of armor (body armor, shoes, shields, helms, gloves, and pants) is determined by the UPSTEP/UBSTEP/LBSTEP (where applicable), COVERAGE+LAYER_SIZE (for all but shields), and the race that crafted it (specifically, the race's first defined caste). --Quietust 18:52, 12 December 2011 (UTC)
