- A vile force of darkness has arrived!
Goblins view Template:L as a scourge on the world and vice versa. When a Template:L becomes large enough to attract their attention (after the acquisition of a Template:L or a Template:L), nearby goblin civilizations will send Template:L after siege in an effort to stamp it out. Various goblin thieves will also try their luck at filching plunder from the dwarven treasure rooms, and goblin childsnatchers will gladly take stray dwarven children home to fatten them up. But the biggest threat to your fortress (after Template:Ls and poor planning) is a goblin siege.
A classic goblin tactic is to rush the front gate. This is often suicidal but can startle the fortress ruler into triggering untested defensive systems, pulling levers in a panic and flooding his/her entire fortress with Template:L, thus ending the dwarf problem.
Why we love goblins
Siege aftermath. 30 dead, drowned, or trapped goblins will get you:
- Heaps of Template:L for your surviving Template:L
- 30 sets of narrow Template:L to sell to the Template:L caravans
- 30 sets of Template:L/Template:L/Template:L Template:Ls, most of them wieldable by dwarves, and Template:L
- 30 sets of narrow copper/bronze/iron Template:L, Template:Lable at the Template:L (with Template:L)
- 30 stacks of goblin bone bolts for training your Template:L (with Template:L)
Who wouldn't love a visit from these little multicolored g's?
60 dead goblins will turn your front door into a cluttered, miasmal charnel pit.
Goblins in Adventure Mode
Many a goblin child has been hushed quiet by the tales of the dwarven stranglers that creep into the rooms of bad little goblin boys and girls.
You cannot play as a goblin in adventure mode (unless you mod it in). Goblins live in "dark fortresses" [Π Π] and will attack you on sight. They give a lot of combat experience if you can kill all of them. If you're not experienced though, just one goblin soldier is enough to kill you.
