This article is about an older version of DF. |
Jet is a standard dark gray stone found in large clusters in sedimentary layers. It is not magma safe, and may only be used for basic stone purposes.
In real life, jet is actually derived from decaying wood under extreme pressure and is an extremely low grade of lignite. However, jet is useless as a fuel, although historically it has been a popular source of jewelry and crafts.
This article or section has been rated D for Dwarf. It may include witty humour, not-so-witty humour, bad humour, in-jokes, pop culture references, and references to the Bay12 forums. Don't believe everything you read, and if you miss some of the references, don't worry. It was inevitable. |
Jet is not to be mistaken with Fallout lore. Melting this rock in magma and trying to inhale the vapors will not make your dwarves behave differently. Even with furious testing with multiple dwarves they acted no differently to repeated dump jet tasks; and thus the only reasonable explanation is that melted jet is not intoxicating nor does it produce an addiction. Although I might need to add that some dwarves had much Fun with magma but I assume this was due to carelessness rather than intoxication. More research is needed.
