Cave lobsters are a type of aquatic vermin found only in underground bodies of water. Cave lobsters cannot actually be caught by fishing, and due to a bug they cannot be caught in baited animal traps either. If you somehow obtain a raw cave lobster, processing it will yield an edible cave lobster and a shell that cannot be used to craft items, unlike other shells.

Some dwarves like cave lobsters for their beauty.
