Weather changes with seasons, brings wet, cold, hot, and dry conditions.

Weather can be turned off by editing init.txt, possibly resulting in faster game play.

Snowstorms will occasionally occur in winter on temperate to freezing maps. They will slowly cover most of the map with snow, and any dwarf caught in one will get an unhappy thought from it.
