I just created 3 pig iron walls to fulfill a mandate, I didnt actually build the walls, mearly designated them. The bars however were made at a custom 'cheaters workshop' I am not sure if I fulfilled the mandate with creating the bars or designating the wall. Someone should verify this, as being able to simply designate a wall to be made out of the mandated material. Then removing the construction before its complete would save lots of resources.

The article states that the production order of one goblet/mug/cup only counts as one item towards mandate completion despite three being produced. Is this right? I just completed a '3 platinum items' mandate with one production order of platinum goblets. (Version is 31.25, no modified raws)

Mandates and Bins[edit]

I left the old formulation about items in bins, despite not having verified it. But I don't recall reading anywhere that the bug was fixed. --Markus cz 21:15, 16 May 2010 (UTC)

Expedition Leader to Mayor[edit]

The article states that expedition leaders won't make mandates after becoming mayor. Either I misunderstood this or it is incorrect: my expedition leader cum mayor has just mandated production of clear glass. (playing 31.18)

The article states, "Starting nobles such as the expedition leader will not make mandates; upgraded nobles like the mayor will." I think you're just misreading the article. Bognor 14:45, 25 December 2010 (UTC) p.s. Remember to sign using ~~~~

Pig Iron Walls[edit]

I just created 3 pig iron walls to fulfill a mandate, I didnt actually build the walls, mearly designated them. The bars however were made at a custom 'cheaters workshop' I am not sure if I fulfilled the mandate with creating the bars or designating the wall. Someone should verify this, as being able to simply designate a wall to be made out of the mandated material. Then removing the construction before its complete would save lots of resources.

The mandate was fulfilled by creating the bars, not constructing the walls out of them - the "legitimate" way of completing mandates for pig iron or bismuth items is to make bars at a smelter. --Quietust 13:02, 5 April 2011 (UTC)

Goblet/mug/cup[edit]

The article states that the production order of one goblet/mug/cup only counts as one item towards mandate completion despite three being produced. Is this right? I just completed a '3 platinum items' mandate with one production order of platinum goblets. (Version is 31.25, no modified raws) 80.213.123.8 12:42, 27 July 2011 (UTC)

Monarch does not make mandates[edit]

At least in this version, the monarch will never make mandates, because they do not have preferences (they are the only historical figure from worldgen forced to come to your fortress). This makes the five mandates they could make moot.109.130.205.235 09:42, 24 December 2013 (UTC)
