I've been having a lot of forgotten beast encounters as of the latest update (0.34.07), including times when I've had three of them in short succession. It might extend to general megabeasts (I just killed one dimetrodon, and no sooner have I returned victorious than a mighty louse monster appears), but I've been noticing a lot of forgotten beasts just popping up. My military are good enough to handle most of them, meaning that I now usually have a consistent bulk supplier of meat, but it seems a little strange that I'm getting this much activity all of a sudden from a regularly generated map.– unsigned comment by 188.222.174.116

Forgive me if I'm wrong, but isn't FB silk more valuable than GCS silk? Maybe it's titan silk instead?– unsigned comment by 78.250.226.221

:Forgotten beasts have a material multiplier of 1, while giant cave spiders have a material multiplier of 4. The item value of silk thread is {value of thread (6)} * {material multiplier}. I created a forgotten beast silk farm and confirmed that, though plentiful, the resulting cloth is low-value. I have not tested a titan silk farm, but I believe their material multiplier is also 1.--Loci (talk) 19:53, 8 September 2013 (UTC)
