40d Talk:Lion

Game Data portion will semi-break the page when shown, as it ignores the presence of the Side bar. The hide button ends up appearing under the Biome header. Don't have any experience creating the hidden field things, or the side bars, so leaving it to someone else to look into. Compare the Game Data field to the Creatures field for reference to what it *should* do.

Problem exists on Lion as well. --Edward 13:27, 6 May 2008 (EDT)

Strength of this enemy[edit]

My fully armored adventurer had his lower left arm bitten straight off on the lions first attack Despite having relitivly minor bleeding and being alot less important than my right arm I was then killed on the lions second turn. How strong are these things supposed to be? --84.13.142.248 23:10, 25 February 2010 (UTC)

Combat has a lot of randomizers in it. It's mathematically possible for a kitten to one-shot a dragon. With thousands of users each having dozens of games with hundreds of combats each with scores of attacks - weird things will happen, just expect them.
That said, one of the biggest constants in combat and damage is size vs. size. So if and when a size 8 lion succeeds in biting a size 6 dwarf, and then is lucky enough to bypass any armour - yeah, bad things will happen, just that simple. (On the plus side, this is how an untrained dwarf can wrestle a fire imp (size 3) and win about 98 times out of 100.) And bleeding aside, a bad injury can stun a dwarf - and that's not good for defense either.--Albedo 23:38, 25 February 2010 (UTC)
