DF2014 Talk:Holding

From Dwarf Fortress Wiki

In my most recent fort, I almost immediately had several tiny goblin pits economically link themselves to me. Can anyone expand this page with information on what that actually DOES? Will those sites no longer be hostile? Will they send me presents and migrants? Will they now view my citizens and possessions as EXTRA-tantalizing? I did very quickly achieve a barony, so that aspect is working correctly, but it seems odd for nobility elevation to be the only concrete effect.

This probably requires more research, but just like any other holding you can request workers from it. It's not uncommon that certain civs will conquer sites of other races during history generation and in your case, those pits will most likely have a mix of goblins and dwarfs. Those conquered goblins shouldn't give you too much trouble considering they're a part of your dwarf civ now. —XianLong (talk) 22:29, 27 August 2018 (UTC)

Triggers[edit]

Could someone elaborate on what triggers new settlements/holdings? I know many of us have a bit of history with this game, but for the benefit of newer players: the text reads, "The economical triggers for this to happen are the same as the old nobility triggers." No mention or link to what these were--if the reference is to a particular iteration, at least provide the number.unsigned comment by 35.191.2.12

I consolidated the trigger information on noble and added a link.--Loci (talk) 22:27, 28 July 2019 (UTC)

It suggested that certain level of exports and overall wealth is required to acquire economically-linked holdings. Any info on what those levels might be? --Jan (talk) 02:53, 23 February 2022 (UTC)
