DF2014 Talk:King
Unless the pre-requisites for the King/Queen arriving as per the previous version, I think that there might be something of a bug here.
I've just started a new fortress, and barely made it into the second year before I chanced to notice what I thought was the King sprite running around my fortress. Sure enough, a look at the nobles screen shows me I have a king. There was no notification, no arrival with experienced military dwarves / other retinue, and I'm still only an Outpost! (Population of 17, King included)
I've submitted it to the Bug Tracker and will wait for a response. Save file is also uploaded there for anyone who wishes to play with the world / fort itself. http://www.bay12games.com/dwarves/mantisbt/view.php?id=7602

- It's possible for the King to die while playing fortress mode and someone in your fortress inherits. This has happened once to me very early on (before 3rd migration wave), but it had a pop-up that informed me the king had died and ___ had inherited. Maybe you closed out of the pop-up accidentally or something and didn't see it. Brightgalrs (talk) 18:21, 24 July 2014 (UTC)
