Mining out a vein no longer, in fact, leaves a precious-metal floor. The floor is the surrounding rock.
A gold vein might still be a good site for a high value room because the vein could be fashioned into walls. I'll let someone more experienced do the edit. 04:07, 11 May 2015 (UTC)
