Created at a tanner, shell can be used to create armour equivalent to bronze. It can also be combined with a second piece of shell at a tanner to create rigid shell, which is as strong as iron. It is as heavy as silver, however, which will slow down dwarves wearing clothing and armor made of it if they are inexperienced armor users.
