System requirements/Report Template

This page has been made to explain how one should create a report for inclusion into the system requirements reports.

Report template explained[edit]

Configuration type: The type of your configuration, aka is it a full desktop PC, a laptop, a netbook or anything else.

Game info
Game version: Which version of DF are you using.
World size: What size world are you using.
Embark size: What is your embark size (2x2, 3x3, 4x4, anything inbetween, whichever it is, make sure to post it.
Age of fort: How old is your fort ingame?
Number of dwarves: Self explanatory.
Average fps: What is the fps at which your game runs over at least a period of half an hour of observation.
Default/nondefault raws: Have you modified the game's default files? (init files are not covered here)
Tileset in use: If you are using any modified/custom tileset, make sure to enter it here.
Amount of stone dug: The amount of stone that your miners have dug out can have a massive effect on your FPS. Take care to report what your stocks screen tells you.
Amount of water and state: The approximate amount of water, is it a brook, river, ocean, some artificial construction, and is it mostly moving, or mostly staying put.
Approximate amount of z-levels: Amount of z-levels which you have dug downwards and approximate z levels that the landscape itself takes up.
RAM usage of game: Self explanatory, your OS provides you with tools to monitor memory useage of applications running on it.
Draw mode in init.txt: Enter here which draw mode you have set up in your init.txt (located in the dwarf fortress directory, under the data/init folder)

CPU: Which processor does your computer use?
MBO: Which motherboard does your computer use?
RAM: How much Random Access Memory does your computer have, and which speed?
GPU: Which graphics card does your computer use?
OS: Which OS are you using to play Dwarf Fortress?

Amount of water and state: A brook, dammed and diverted into big cisterns for trap use, mostly static and pressurised.
Approximate amount of z-levels: Beyond 200 below the ground level, around 5 upwards from ground.
RAM usage of game: Around 1.25 GB when playing
