Changes[edit]

Ok, I'm wondering what has changed about food in 31.01? I know that there are some relevant bugs, but is there anything new? Garanis 03:31, 8 April 2010 (UTC)

Aside from the bugs, the main difference is that when you butcher an animal, you can now eat all of the organs instead of just the meat.--Morlark
It seems to me that the main difference is that you cannot prepare a meal out of alcohol alone. --Doub 10:36, 8 April 2010 (UTC)
boozecooking, also alc. alone, is still possible, but seems to be bugged, or produces much less food than it used to. Better stay clear or test carefully. --92.202.121.225 22:32, 10 April 2010 (UTC)

Is the the rate that dwarfs eat food changed? Like, will several hundred units of food last about as long as they usually do? --Sysice 06:41, 10 April 2010 (UTC)

My impression is that cooking is much more time-consuming, but it doesn't seem dwarves eat more. --92.202.121.225 22:32, 10 April 2010 (UTC)

How much does a dwarf consume?[edit]

This should be in the wiki, telling how much per year a dwarf eats and drinks. - AngleWyrm 07:28, 2 September 2010 (UTC)

I believe that one unit of food is enough to feed a single dwarf for one month. unsigned comment by 75.155.52.95
I've heard that a dwarf will consume about 2 units of food and 4 units of alcohol over a season.--71.188.76.10 14:08, 17 December 2010 (UTC)

Food Ownership[edit]

How do I remove ownership from food? 100 of my dwarves are starving because five guys own all the edible food in the fortress. 68.32.198.228 03:33, 8 December 2010 (UTC)

Nevermind, sending them to their deaths freed up the food. 68.32.198.228 20:23, 10 December 2010 (UTC)

What about adventure mode?[edit]

It seems that if I have my adventurer eat AT ALL, he/she starts to get fat. I've never seen a hunger status arise. I hate letting things go to waste, though... so I always butcher the animals I kill, and I just can't bring myself to leave it there... *sigh*
