Outside/Inside Orders[edit]

Is it just me, or is there no way to set whether dwarves can venture outside anymore (such as during a siege) from the new o menu? Is this supposed to happen from the alerts screen from now on? --Bronzebeard 22:26, 13 April 2010 (UTC)

You have to define a burrow and add EVERY DWARF IN YOUR FORTRESS to it. You can define multi-level burrows in one fell swoop, but it's still annoying. I wish the "All dwarves stay inside" order was still present. FFLaguna 23:17, 13 April 2010 (UTC)
No need to add ALL of them, you can just use the Civilian alert level from the military screen: go to (m)ilitary, (a)lerts, (c)reate a new alert level (N)amed something like "civvies inside", limit it only to the "inside" burrow, then press (Enter) on the alert itself to set it as the civilian alert. When it's safe to go outside, set Inactive as the civvy alert.
On a similar note, thanks for mentioning burrow-designation works across z-levels, I had no idea! That makes it a bit easier to use, I suppose (would still prefer an automatically created "Inside" burrow, though). --188.26.253.90 11:28, 30 May 2010 (UTC)

Warning: canceling the alert doesn't necessarily free your dwarves from their burrow assignments, which could lead to starvation or Other Fun.

Workshop Orders[edit]

Under workshop orders f(auto fishery) and k(auto kitchen) cannot be toggled, and when I toggle b(auto butcher)it toggles all three at once on and off. This has been happening to me since .10 through .14. I haven't tried it on earlier versions.--71.59.132.217 03:35, 2 October 2010 (UTC)

The bug is cosmetic - the toggles actually work, but both Fishery and Kitchen incorrectly display the state for Butcher. --Quietust 04:24, 2 October 2010 (UTC)
