Grass is a naturally occuring map tile found commonly across the surface of the world in temperate biomes. It is usually green, and found on top of soil types such as clay loam; even if you excavate the tile (using a channel). Grass apparently grows quickly and indicates that a tree might grow there, as opposed to tiles like loam which don't support trees. Grass can catch fire.
