The rear tile is where power is applied, either by machine or by dwarf. The front tile is where power is utilized, and where it is transferred from. Only the front tile can transfer power. I think the article should note this, but more research is needed - I have only tested this with water wheels. Maximum Total Power[edit]
In DF 0.31.25, I've noticed that a single machine cannot have more than 5000 Total Power (OR a single machine doesn't gain power from more than 50 water wheels, but they still need 10 power as usual).
